Unter den Linden, Berlin

Luxury flats and penthouses close to Brandenburger Gate.

Conversion of an existing office building.
Madame Tussaud at ground floor level will remain a long-term tenant. The redesigned facade will pursue a different approach to integrating Madame Tussauds strong identity.

Flats on the four floors above have all their bedrooms towards the courtyard. The deep floor plates rely heavily on a good day-light concept for the courtyard. The redesign employs a smart strategy where the diffuse daylight penetration is maximised by utilizing water surfaces, mirrors and reflective shutters. The shutters double up as a primary means for controlling privacy and overlooking.

„Light is an essential part of the function and atmosphere of an attractive and welcoming residential project. The use and look of light, will help to create a contemporary view of ‘home’ providing safe lit environments as well as strong light images and vistas.”

Flats

The largest flats are all located towards "Unter den Linden", with a generous living room and a large Loggia facing Unter den Linden. All bedrooms are located along the courtyard facades. Every master and guest suite has a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom. The two roof levels are converted into four large penthouses with ample terrace space and great views across the city, in direct vicinity of Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate.

Courtyard

„The internal courtyard is the ‘secret jewel’ in the project: a place of beauty and joy. Its elevations will become the most desirable aspect of the apartments providing well distributed natural and artificial light. The pitched façade panels reflect sky brightness and any available sunshine into the apartment and up onto the ceilings. In the evening lit features concealed in the panels provide a subtle light in the courtyard reflecting on the mirror polished materials and reflecting pool below. Reflections in the pool will in turn reflect and animate the internal faceted elevation.”
